Sustainable chemistry is the research goal of Nuno Maulide and his research group at the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Vienna. These environmentally friendly reactions succeed with novel, high-energy intermediates that are formed during the chemical reaction and only exist for fractions of a second. With the help of mass spectroscopy and theoretical calculations, the researchers were now able to prove these chemical intermediates. The results are currently published in the renowned journal "Chemical Science".
