31.10.2018

A joint project on heavy metal pollution, headed by Franz Jirsa of the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Annemarie Oldewage of the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, has been selected for support by the Centre for International Cooperation & Mobility (ICM) of the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research (OeAD).

The project Heavy metal pollution following acid mine drainage and consequent risks for aquatic environments will be funded within the framework of Scientific & Technological Cooperation (S&T Cooperation).

To intensify cooperation and scientific exchange in heavy metal research in the environment and consequences of anthropogenic pollution for biota, the Austrian and South African partners will each receive a grant of EUR 10.000 over the span of two years for travelling expenses and living costs of eight scientists and young scientists.
