Doctoral Program "Molecular Drug Targets" (MolTag) Kick-Off Meeting - 3rd Funding Period

The Doctoral Program "Molecular Drug Targets" (MolTag) officially kicks off it's 3rd Funding Period with an event full of carefully selected, very fine guest lecturers, expert discussions and interesting talks.

The event takes place:

Monday, November 25, starting from 09:15 (reception) until ca. 16:30 at the Sky Lounge of the University of Vienna, Oskar Morgenstern-Platz 1, 12th floor, 1090 Vienna.

The compilation of the guest speakers characterizes the variety of scientific disciplines in the MolTag DK:

  • Ruth Nussinov, National Cancer Institute (USA) "Molecular Targeting in the Age of Precision Medicine"
  • Jeffrey Bode, Organic Chemistry, ETHZ (CH) "Predictable and Programmable Organic Synthesis"
  • Jacob Keller, HHMI Janelia Research Campus (USA) "Rapid, Frigid and Vivid: Transporter Physiology Measured with Biosensors"
  • Paul Slesinger, Icahn School of Medicine (USA) "From Structures to Behavior: A journey with inhibitory potassium channels"
  • and MolTag Faculty Member Nuno Maulide who will convey the aesthetic dimension of Organic Synthesis in his lecture "When Science becomes an Art".

A panel discussion will shed light on the "Value and Challenge of a multidisciplinary PhD Education" (chaired by Lucas Zinner).
