15.05.2024

ERC AdG 2024: 17.04.2024

ERC StG/CoG 2025: 15.05.2024

Research Services and Career Development would like to inform you of two upcoming information workshops on ERC: one on ERC AdG 2024 on 17 April 2024 and one on ERC StG/ CoG 2025 on 15 May 2024.

  1. ERC AdG 2024

The AdG 2024 information workshop will take place in presence at Berggasse 7 (SE1)  (in English) on Wednesday, 17 April from 15:00 to 17:00. The workshop will focus on the ERC Advanced Grant funding scheme.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to listen to the experiences of two ERC Advanced grantees, Prof. Jörg Matthes and Prof. Joao Alves, and ask questions. In addition, Prof. Matthes will also share his experience as ERC panel member.

The ERC Advanced Grant scheme is aimed at active researchers who have a track record of significant achievements in the last 10 years, funding projects of up to 5 years with 2.5 million EUR (in certain cases additional budget can be applied for). ERC Grants operate on a ‘bottom-up’ basis and finance individual Principal Investigators and their teams. The next call for ERC AdG applications (AdG 2024) will open on 29 May 2024, with a deadline on 29 August 2024

Note: the workshop will be held in person at Berggasse 7, 1090 Vienna, SE Room 1 (courtyard/ ground floor). Due to the room capacity, the number of participants is limited to 20, on a first come first serve basis, with a waiting list. For this reason, this workshop is primarily addressed to participants who are interested in applying to the upcoming call (AdG 2024).

  1. ERC StG/ CoG 2025

The ERC StG/ CoG 2025 information workshop will take place online (in English) on Wednesday, 15 May from 15:00 to 17:00. The workshop will focus on both Starting (StG) and Consolidator (CoG) Grant funding schemes.

In addition to contributions from the Research Services, Dr Ylva Huber from our national contact point FFG will provide information on the two funding schemes and share some insights into the 2025 work programme which will open in July 2024.

The ERC StG scheme (max. budget 1,5 M EUR/ 5 years) aims to support promising early career researchers, 2-7 years post PhD who already have an excellent track record and important publications.

The ERC CoG scheme (max. 2 M EUR/ 5 years) is open to excellent researchers 7-12 years post PhD who can already demonstrate independent research work and leadership, in addition to important publications.

ERC grants are open to all scientific disciplines as well as to all subject areas (bottom up).
