New Head of Microanalytical Laboratory

Dr. Mariusz Jozef Wolff, Senior Scientist at the Institute of Functional Materials and Catalysis, took over as Head of the Microanalytical Laboratory at the Faculty of Chemistry on 9 March 2024.

Dr. Mariusz Jozef Wolff, Senior Scientist at the Institute of Functional Materials and Catalysis, took over as Head of the Microanalytical Laboratory at the Faculty of Chemistry on March, 9th 2024.

Mariusz Wolff is an inorganic chemist and has been working as a PostDoc at the Institute of Functional Materials and Catalysis since summer 2019.

Prior to that, he worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Johannes Kepler University Linz since 2017. He received his PhD from the University of Silesia under Prof. Barbara Machura and worked at the Université Catholique de Louvain (Prof. Garcia), the Université Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier (Prof. Benoist) and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Prof. Gelman).

His research interests include azole-based ligands and metal complexes exhibiting photoluminescent or spin-crossover properties and their application in catalytic transformations.

In March 2024, Dr. Wolff was appointed as the new Head of the Microanalytical Laboratory.

The microanalytical laboratory offers employees of the University of Vienna and companies various services, such as the determination of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulphur and oxygen as well as phosphorus and halogens in chemical samples.
