The University of Vienna aims at contributing to the major global issues of society and strives to become climate-neutral by 2030. The Faculty of Chemistry supports this initiatives and contributes actively.

The sustainability website of the University of Vienna provides current information about courses, events, research projects and measures relating to the protection of the climate and the environment.

Saving energy in everyday life

Consider energy-saving potential in everyday university operations and take appropriate measures where possible. Turn off the lights if a room is unoccupied or if daylight is sufficient. Also turn off any devices that are currently not needed. Standby consumes power too. In the coming weeks, the University of Vienna will develop further measures and recommendations to raise awareness for the ‘switch-it-off’ principle.
