We would like to invite you to our ERC PoC and EIC information workshop on 5 March 2025 from 10:00 to 13:00. The event will be face-to-face and in English.
The European Innovation Council (EIC) within Horizon Europe supports game changing innovations throughout the lifecycle, from early stage research, to proof of concept, technology transfer and the financing and scale up of start-ups. With this event we would like to raise awareness about the funding opportunities offered under this scheme
- EIC Pathfinder: Supporting research and deep tech projects with a high degree of scientific ambition and risk.
- EIC Transition: Supporting maturation and validation of novel ideas from lab to business. A bridge between research and application development.
The European Research Council (ERC) within Horizon Europe supports excellent research. Proof of Concept (PoC) Grants aim at maximizing the value of the excellent research that the ERC funds, by funding further work (i.e. activities which were not scheduled to be funded by the original ERC frontier research grant) to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC funded projects. The objective is to enable ERC-funded ideas to progress on the path from ground-breaking research towards innovation. All Principal Investigators in one of the ERC frontier research main grants (Starting, Consolidator, Advanced or Synergy) are eligible to participate and apply for an ERC Proof of Concept Grant. Principal Investigators in an ongoing main grant, or Principal Investigators in a main grant that has ended after 1 January 2024, are eligible to apply.
As the interest in these schemes is increasing at the University, we have organized an information workshop for our researchers, and we have invited the National Contact Points, Dr Angelo Nuzzo and Dr Ylva Huber, to give a presentation and discuss the different funding opportunities offered by the EIC and ERC PoC. In addition, we will also present details about the support offered by the University both for the proposal and the entrepreneurial aspects.
To register for this event, please make sure you are logged in at the Uni Wien Intranet before you open the Eventregistration via this link.
The event will take place at Berggasse 7 (DLE FSNF - Research Services and Career Development, Seminarraum 1 (Hof),
